Making Tax Digital is here. We’ll keep you compliant — from £25/month + VAT.
Fixed-fee Self Assessment and Making Tax Digital for sole traders and landlords in Newry and across Northern Ireland. We handle HMRC. You get on with the business.
Does this apply to you?
It depends on your qualifying income — your combined self-employment and property income, before expenses. HMRC checks it against your tax return and writes to you when you are caught by the rules.
Based on your 2024–25 tax return. Mandatory since 6 April 2026.
Based on your 2025–26 tax return.
Based on your 2026–27 tax return.
Below the threshold? Nothing changes for you yet — but your Self Assessment return for 2025–26 is still due by 31 January 2027. There are also exemptions, for example if you are digitally excluded. If you are not sure where you stand, ask us and we will check.
Fixed monthly packages
Clear prices, no hourly rates and no “contact us for a quote”. All prices are per month and exclude VAT — 20% is added at checkout.

What’s not included
Each package covers the ongoing work described above, from the point you join us. Earlier tax years, late or outstanding returns, and records that need correcting before we can file are separate — we will look at what is involved, tell you the cost, and agree it with you first.
No work is ever done, and no fee is ever charged, without you agreeing it.
Common questions
What actually is Making Tax Digital?
Instead of one tax return a year, HMRC wants a short summary of your income and expenses four times a year, sent from compatible software, plus a final declaration at the end. Your records have to be kept digitally rather than in a notebook or a shoebox.
Does it apply to me?
It depends on your qualifying income — your combined self-employment and property income before expenses. If that was over £50,000 on your 2024–25 tax return, it already applies. HMRC writes to you when you are caught by it. If you are not sure, phone us and we will check for you.
What software do I need?
Something HMRC-recognised. We set it up for you as part of the MTD packages, connect it to your bank, and show you how to use it. You do not need to work it out yourself.
What are the deadlines?
Quarterly updates are due 7 August, 7 November, 7 February and 7 May. The next one is 7 November 2026. Your Self Assessment return for 2025–26 is still due in the normal way by 31 January 2027.
I already have an accountant — is switching a hassle?
No. Send us one email. We request professional clearance from them and handle the HMRC authorisation ourselves. You do not need to have an awkward conversation and you do not lift a finger.
I am under the threshold. Do I need to do anything?
Not for MTD yet. The threshold drops to £30,000 in April 2027 and £20,000 in April 2028, so most sole traders and landlords will be caught eventually. Your Self Assessment return is still due as normal in the meantime, which is what our Basic package covers.
